A Letter from the Owner (1/15/2023)
Acorn Fence & Construction, Inc. was founded in 1993 by Earl Yoho and myself, Luigi M. Biancardi (Lou). Earl brought several years of experience in other successful business ventures to the table, while I brought a few years of fence sales and installation experience that I acquired while working for other local fence companies.
When the corporation was formed, Earl was tasked with the administrative duties and I performed sales and installation. As our company grew, we added additional sales and installation personnel. I slowly took over administrative duties under Earl’s guidance, which allowed Earl the opportunity to semi-retire and eventually retire from the day-to-day operations. Over the years, Earl and I have partnered on other successful ventures including Woodmar Self Storage and the leasing of commercial properties.
It was with great sadness that Earl passed away in December 2020, which marked the end of 28 great years of partnership. I continue to run the businesses, but am getting to the point of seeking semi-retirement myself. My plan is to continue to keep 1 phone line, 219-844-8400, for 2 years, allowing me to complete work I’m already contracted to do, as well as serve previous customers that call with issues on past services or warranty issues. New work will be referred to 2 of Acorn’s past employees who now have their own ventures and who are also bringing on some of Acorn's former staff:
Nick Biancardi
Pinecone Decks & Construction LLC
Nick Biancardi has recently formed Pinecone Decks & Construction LLC and will be performing deck, railing, and pergola work. Nick is my son and has been employed by Acorn Fence since 2008, working part-time through high school and college, and full time since 2014. He has extensive knowledge in the sales, design, and construction of decks and associated work. He is also well-read and keeps up with the latest trends and building codes. Ivan Vasquez
A Plus Fence LLC
Ivan Vasquez has owned A Plus Fence LLC since 2009 doing his own work in his free time and has worked as a full time employee for Acorn Fence since 2002. He has extensive experience in all types of fence, and is now going to make A Plus Fence LLC his full-time job. His company’s phone number is 219-306-9253.
Thanks again to our past customers for allowing us to serve you for so many years. I look forward to continuing to administer my real estate interests, and plan on using my extra time to mentor new entrepreneurs, as Earl did for me. I will continue to pursue my hobbies of fishing and boating, and also plan on spending more time with family and friends.
